His father Ellsworth Peters was the first
Mashpee Fire Chief in 1950.
Gordon grew up around the Mashpee Fire Department,
and joined as a teenager. He served many years and was one of
the Mashpee FD members who was experienced and an expert in
brush breaker operations for years.
He was also very mechanically talented
and worked for years as the Falmouth FD mechanic.
His love and experience with Brush
Breakers and the history
of Cape Cod Fire Departments is renowned.
Rest in Peace Gordon.
