YOUNG
Bruce F Young, third generation Harwich Firefighter, retired August
15, 2025
after about 47 years of service. He joined Harwich FD as a call firefighter
in 1978, became fulltime in 1993, Fire prevention Officer in 2019,
and retiring Aug 15, 2025.
His Grandfather Fred T Young had joined the Harwich FD in 1929
and
served as Asst Chief / Deputy for many years.
His father, Bruce C Young joined Harwich FD in 1957, fulltime
in 1971, and was promoted to
Captain in 1977. He retired in 1998.
In honor of the Young's family commitment of over 96+ years
and over 120 years
of actual service to the Harwich Fire Department, Chief David LeBlanc
awarded to rank of Assistant Fire Chief to Bruce F Young on Aug 15, 2025.
