INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS
FALLEN FIRE FIGHTER MEMORIAL
SEPTEMBER 19 & 20, 2025

The Annual Ceremony at the IAFF Memorial was held on Saturday September 20, 2025
in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Approximately 1400 Pipes, Drums, Honor Guard, and Presenters arrived early
and practiced for hours on September 19 to prepare for the special honoring
of the 311 names added to the wall for 2024.

The actual Memorial Ceremony brought thousands of people from all over
America and Canada.

This feature displays some of the many images taken trying to represent
the beauty and honorable tribute to the families of the Fallen Fire Fighters.

THE IAFF MEMORIAL - DAYS BEFORE

IAFF FALLEN FIRE FIGHTER MEMORIAL
Colorado Springs, Colorado
September 10, 2025

A beautiful place to preserve and remember the memories of so many Fallen Fire Fighters.
Such a privilege to be in the right place at the right time.

For those who may not have been to the Memorial site, it is located at the corner
of Pikes Peak Ave and South Hancock Ave in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

It is in a larger park known as Memorial Park, with large fields and facilities
to support many gatherings of large groups.

Events such as the Hot Air Balloon weekend just a couple weeks before
are among the spectacular use of this park.

On most days, to the west, Pikes Peak is visible, at 14, 115 foot elevation.
A truly spectacular setting for the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial.

The International Association of Fire Fighters
represents both American and Canadian professional Firefighters.

A COUPLE WEEKS BEFORE - HOT AIR BALLOONS

HOT AIR BALLOONS
Unrelated to the IAFF Memorial, but an example of the Memorial Park
surrounding the Fire Fighter Memorial, was the early morning lift off
of dozens (about 75) Hot Air Balloons August 31, 2025.
Quite the sight!

THE WALLS

THE WALLS
The Memorial includes the statue located in the center.
More importantly, and meaningful, are the dark granite walls, made up of panels.
Each wall displays the names, IAFF Local, and State of fallen fire fighters generally
displayed by years added to the wall.

I happened to stop by as the 2024-25 Names were being added to the wall.
311 new names this year.

ORGANIZED 1918
The IAFF was organized in 1918, and Fire Fighters were already dying.
The Memorial tries to remember and document those Lost in the Line of Duty
year by year.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
September 11, 2001 saw the loss of some 343 members of the FDNY.
IAFF Local 94 are the Firefighters.
The Officers are members of Local 854.

These are some of the few listings of names that are alphabetical
since they all perished at the same time.
