Remembering 10 Years Later
We all know exactly where we were and what we were doing..... It was a beautiful, clear blue sky, Tuesday morning..... Americans were going about their day just as they always do.... At 08:46 a.m..... The world as we knew it changed.... American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the 110 Story WTC North Tower 1.... at 09:03 a.m....... A second jet, United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the 110 Story South Tower 2.... We all witnessed the horror.... People trapped above fires in both towers leaped to their deaths.... What horrible choices those people faced.... Hundreds of FDNY, NYPD, and EMS personnel responded.... The Bravest and the Finest were just that..... at 09:37 a.m..... in Washington, DC..... A third plane crashes into the Pentagon.... American Airlines Flight 77..... at 10:03 a.m..... in Shanksville, Pennsylvania..... A fourth plane crashes into a field.... United Airlines 93...... at 09:59 a.m..... it all got worse.... Tower 2 collapsed suddenly and completely after just 56 minutes.... A dust cloud enveloped lower Manhattan.... Survivors ran for their lives..... Strangers came to the aid of other strangers.... at 10:28 a.m.... it happened again..... Tower 1 came down, just as Tower 2 had, after burning for 102 minutes.... 343 Fire Fighters.... Nearly 3,000 innocent lives.... Gone..... at 5:21 p.m..... A third WTC tower collapses.... 47 Story Tower 7, not even struck by any aircraft, falls.... Just as Tower 1 and 2, suddenly and completely.... Three huge Sky Scrapers gone.... Impossible.... Thousands of lives lost.... God help them.... We watched it all happen on a Tuesday morning in September..... We were quickly told who had done this.... How they had accomplished such a horrible thing.... How the impossible had simply happened.... Before our very eyes.... As if it were all a Hollywood movie.... But is was real.... Americans bought flags.... Red, White, and Blue everything, everywhere.... We came together.... We asked why.... We asked how..... We wanted to understand.... We couldn't.... Recovery of our brother fire fighters remains took months.... Funerals went on into the Fall..... We Will Never Forget..... Those who so bravely sacrificed their lives saving others that day.... 9 - 11 - 01 Ten Years have passed..... Healing has occurred.... Lives have gone on..... Wars have been fought.... Osama has been taken care of.... Much has changed.... Much remains the same.... There are still so many questions..... There are still too few answers.... Is anyone still asking.... Will we ever know..... Do we really want to know... What actually happened that day.... Why.... How.... Who.... SEE LINKS BELOW....
