Tisbury Ladder 651
The 1960 Ford / Maxim 65' Ladder Truck is about to be retired.

Its replacement is a 2006 Emergency One / 100' Bronto Aerial Platform
with a 2000 gpm pump and 300 gal tank.  The new platform
will have a 10,000w generator and lighting.  It will carry about 400' 5" LDH
and has 3 crosslays, an assortment of ground ladders, and equipment.
The truck will be painted white over lime with a white aerial boom.
The new platform will have to be house in a temporary facility
built near the DPW facility off State Road since it can not fit in the
present fire station on Beach Road.
The new ladder should be on Island in Feb-Mar of 2006.
The 'old' ladder will be sold.

FIRE STATION NEWS

Tisbury Fire Station

Tisbury (Vineyard Haven) is planning a new public safety fire-ems station.
The new station would replace the old fire headquarters that is on a small lot and
is not large enough for modern apparatus.
June 2004
Update
Tisbury anticipates selection of a site for the new facility in the Spring of 2006.
The site will be out of town off State Road, although the specific location
has not been identified.  Once the site is selected, funding of design plans
would follow, and then funding for construction would have to follow.
The facility would house the fire department and ems vehicles.
The present station on Beach Road has no room for modern apparatus
and has very limited facilities or parking.  Additionally, its location
on one of the most congested roads in town during the busy summer
makes an alternate site a necessity.
