| NEW OTIS ANGB FIRE STATION - NOV 21,
2006 The new 40,000 sq ft, $13 million fire headquarters is expected to open in the spring of 2007. The facility will replace the two present stations. It will also house the Barnstable County Sheriff's Dept dispatch center. Photos of progress.

| NEW FIRE STATION TAKES SHAPE Construction is well under way on the the Otis Fire Station. Located across the runway to the west of the present crash station, the large new fire station will replace both Otis stations. All apparatus will be running out of the combination ARFF / Structural station when it opens. The station will not be completed until approximately Fall 2006 ![]() Architect rendering of the new Otis Crash Fire Rescue Station presently under construction. The new facility being built on the west side of the airport will combine the two present Otis stations into one facility. The new station will house both ARFF and structural apparatus. Construction is expected to be complete by Fall 2006. |
OTIS FIRE DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS![]() Otis Fire Department operates from two stations. One on the flightline and one in the housing area. Otis is in the planning stages of designing a new combined facility to replace the 1940's vintage stations. Update: The contract has apparently been made and a new $13 million station will be built on the west side of the airfield in 2004/2005. Dec 2003 Ground broken on new Station May 2005. |

OTIS DISASTER DRILL![]() Otis Firefighters initiate response to a simulated aircraft incident involving approximately 40 injuries, hazardous materials, and a terrorist scenario which brought numerous military and civilian agencies to Otis on May 4, 2002. |
| OTIS ON BASE CLOSURE LIST Otis is one of the bases planned to be closed in the recently announced defense department plan. Otis is home to 102nd Air National Guard, USCG Air Station Cape Cod, Mass Military Reservation, PAVE PAWS, and serves several other roles. There has been talk of a possible Homeland Security training facility at the base but it is not sure at this time how the closure announcement will effect the base ultimately. May 2005 |
